A 35-year-old Clearing man was charged with aggravated assault after he was arrested at his home in the 6100 block of South Mayfield at 6:05 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29.
Steven Rodriguez has apprehended without incident by members of the Great Lakes Region Fugitive Task Force.
Police claimed Rodriguez used a baseball bat to threaten three teens ages 17-19 in an incident that reportedly occurred Dec. 22 in the 8000 block of West Forest Preserve Avenue. Police offered no other details.

An 18-year-old Garfield Ridge man was charged with criminal defacement of property after he was arrested in front of 6161 S. Archer at 6:07 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 26.
Alexander R. Torres, of the 5200 block of South Rutherford, allegedly tagged part of the CTA bus shelter at 63rd and Archer Road, Summit, a CPD spokesman said, before being tracked and apprehended two miles east, near Archer and Austin.
Torres also was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance, as well as possession of a pellet gun, but the police spokesman did not elaborate.

A 51-year-old Clearing man was charged with domestic battery after he was arrested at his home in the 6000 block of West 63rd Street at 9:20 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28. Johnnie L. Armstrong allegedly pushed a 21-year-old woman onto a couch during an argument.

A 35-year-old Auburn Gresham woman was charged with retail theft after she was arrested in front of 4744 W. 83rd St. at 12:07 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 2. |

Cleopatra Sparkman, of the 8000 block of South Honore, was apprehended after she allegedly left the ALDI at 8333 S. Cicero while pushing a shopping cart containing stolen merchandise. She also was charged with possession of a controlled substance, battery and resisting arrest, although a CPD spokesman did not elaborate.
According to public records, Sparkman has been arrested 18 times by CPD since 2014 on such charges as drinking alcohol on the public way, obstructing identification, theft, retail theft, criminal trespass to land, criminal trespass to a vehicle, criminal trespass to a residence, criminal damage to property, battery, aggravated assault, aggravated battery, domestic battery, violating an order of protection, resisting arrest, possession of a pellet gun, robbery and possession of a stolen vehicle.

A 38-year-old Ashburn woman was charged with two counts of aggravated assault and two counts of aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon after she was arrested near her home in the 3200 block of West 83rd Street at 4:51 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7.
Saraha D. Alexander allegedly was involved in a road-rage incident that started near 55th and Ashland, a CPD spokesman said, adding that Alexander allegedly pointed a gun at a man and woman (both age 35) in another vehicle.
The spokesman said police at the scene confiscated a handgun from Alexander’s vehicle, adding that Alexander holds a FOID card and a CCL.

A 19-year-old Brighton Park man was charged with DUI after he was arrested by officers investigating a traffic crash at 79th and Knox at 5:55 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 9.
Jonathan Cenobio Vazquez, of the 4500 block of South Francisco, also was charged with transporting open alcohol, although a CPD spokesman declined to elaborate. He also was ticketed for driving without a license.

An 18-year-old man was charged with reckless conduct after he arrested near a home in the 3400 block of West 84th Street at 1:25 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13.
Jildart Montiel was apprehended by officers responding a report of someone trying to break into a nearby home.

A 30-year-old Ashburn man was charged with theft after he was arrested outside 3500 W. 82nd Place at 7:38 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19.
Derrick T. Kellogg, of the 3200 block of West 83rd Street, allegedly was spotted stealing a new tire from a railroad box car that had been broken into on the tracks less than a block west.
According to public records, Kellogg has been arrested six times by CPD since 2014—four times for failing to register with authorities as a convicted gun offender.

Raynann R. Jones, of the 400 block of North St. Louis, allegedly stole merchandise from the store, although a CPD spokesman declined to say exactly what was reportedly taken. He also allegedly made verbal threats against two store employees—women ages 20 and 60.
According to public records, Jones has been arrested 17 times by CPD since 2017 on charges that included drinking alcohol on the public way, obstructing identification, possession of a pellet gun, criminal damage to property, domestic battery, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, driving on a suspended license, illegally transporting open alcohol, criminal trespass to a residence, criminal trespass to state land and phone harassment.

A 40-year-old Back of the Yards man was charged with driving a vehicle with a license plate belonging to another vehicle, after he was arrested during a traffic stop in front of 5901 W. 55th St. at 6:31 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31.
Victoriano Hernandez Fierro, of the 1200 block of West 51st Street, also was charged with driving without a license.

A 64-year-old Garfield Ridge man was charged with battery after he was arrested at his home in the 5100 block of South Monitor at 8:35 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 9.
Stanislaw Skoczyk allegedly grabbed a 26-year-old woman about the chest and buttocks during an argument, a CPD spokesman said without elaborating.

A 59-year-old man was charged with driving a vehicle with a license plate belonging to another vehicle, after he was arrested during a traffic stop in front of 6322 S. Archer at 6:08 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19.
Fidelmar Garduno Alvarez was apprehended without incident.

A 56-year-old Clearing man was charged with burglary after he was arrested at his home in the 5700 block of West 63rd Place at 12:37 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11.
Juan Estrada was identified in a photo lineup as the man who allegedly burglarized a business near 63rd Place and Central on Dec. 22, 2024, a CPD spokesman said without elaborating.

Efren Ramirez Terrazas allegedly punched a 38-year-old man in the face repeatedly during an argument.

A 26-year-old Brighton Park man was charged with DUI after he was arrested in the alley behind 6050 S. Central at 4:45 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14.
Hugo Ernesto Chavez, of the 4500 block of South Christiana, was reportedly found asleep and slumped over the wheel of a vehicle, a CPD spokesman said.
Charges of CCL violations were added after officers reportedly found a loaded handgun and two ammunition magazines in the vehicle.

A 36-year-old West Lawn woman was charged with disorderly conduct after she was arrested at 5953 W. 63rd St. at 3:11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5.
Isabel Hernandez, of the 3700 block of West 71st Street, alleged made a false report to police in which she claimed she had been kidnapped, a CPD spokesman said.
According to public records, Hernandez was arrested by CPD in February 2019 and charged with theft.

A 55-year-old Clearing man was charged with domestic battery after he was arrested at his home in the 6100 block of West 61st Place at 12:56 a.m. Monday, Jan. 20. Manuel J. Alvarez allegedly pushed a 51-year-old woman during an argument.

A 33-year-old man from suburban Blue Island was charged with battery after he was arrested outside 6456 W. 63rd St. at 4:24 p.m. Monday, Jan. 20.
Adam Ocampo, of the 2300 block of West 121st Street, allegedly pushed and hit a 17-year-old boy during an argument, a CPD spokesman said without elaborating.

A 30-year-old Morgan Park woman was charged with battery after she was arrested in front of 6031 W. 64th St. at 2:41 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 25. Karen M. Williams, of the 11300 block of South Elizabeth, allegedly struck and pulled the hair of a 31-year-old man.

A 29-year-old Clearing man was charged with nine counts of stalking and eight counts of assault after he was arrested at his home in the 6300 block of West 64th Place at 12:51 p.m. Monday, Jan. 27.
Zachary R. Frontczak allegedly committed the crimes against two women—ages 57 and 80—over a period of weeks, a CPD spokesman said while declining to offer other details.
According to public records, Frontczak was arrested by CPD in July 2015 near 52nd and Luna and charged with aggravated assault.
