A 37-year-old Bridgeport man was charged with possession of a controlled substance after he was arrested minutes after a traffic crash in the 6100 block of South Austin at 4:35 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23.
Matthew A. Valle, of the 3100 block of South Racine, also was charged with failure of a convicted gun offender to register with authorities.
According to public records, Valle has been arrested four times by CPD since 2014 on charges that included theft and unlawful use of a weapon.

A 52-year-old man was charged with criminal damage to property after he was arrested in the 6200 block of West 65th Street at 1:43 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27.
Edwin Fontanez, of the 3000 block of North Central, allegedly damaged the back door of a home when he kicked it last month. A CPD spokesman offered no other details.

A 19-year-old West Elsdon man was charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon after he was arrested during a traffic stop near his home in the 5600 block of South Kenneth at 9:01 p.m. Monday, March 1.
Ruayman Sanchez was reportedly found to be in possession of a firearm, a CPD spokesman said.
According to public records, Sanchez has been arrested three times by CPD since October 2019, on such charges as unlawful possession of ammunition and unlawful possession of a firearm by a street gang member. |

Arrested at the same time on March 1 was 18-year-old Francisco Juarez, of the 4100 block of South Albany. He was charged with illegal possession of ammunition.

A 38-year-old Central Stickney man was charged with retail theft after he was arrested in the 5100 block of South Lamon at 8:49 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 28.
James R. Daly, of the 5000 block of South Central, allegedly stole merchandise from a store on Archer, a CPD spokesman said without elaborating.
According to public records, Daly has been arrested seven times by CPD since 2014 on such charges as possession of a controlled substance, criminal trespass to a vehicle and being a fugitive from justice.

A 21-year-old Chicago Lawn man was charged with violating an order of protection after he was arrested at the Aloha Motel, 8515 S. Cicero, at 1:02 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27.
Andres J. Novack, of the 6300 block of South Albany, allegedly made contact with a 23-year-old woman, in violation of a court order.
According to public records, Novack was charged with reckless conduct when was arrested on Feb. 2 near 63rd and Mozart.

A 33-year-old South Side woman was charged with DUI after she was arrested during a traffic stop in the 3300 block of West 79th Street at 8:43 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27.
Ashley K. Harris, of the 8500 block of South Vernon, was stopped by officers responding to a 911 call about a person driving erratically near 79th and Kedzie.
She also was charged with carrying open alcohol in her vehicle, and she was cited for driving on the wrong side of the road.

A 28-year-old West Lawn man was charged with reckless discharge of a firearm after he was arrested at his home in the 3900 block of West 68th Place at 8:26 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26.
Michael A. McToy was apprehended by officers responding to a ShotSpotter alert. He allegedly fired a handgun in his backyard.
According to public records, McToy was arrested by CDPH in 2015 and charged with battery.

A 32-year-old Garfield Ridge man was charged with driving on a revoked license after he was arrested during a traffic stop at 10:28 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4.
Gerardo Vega, of the 5600 block of South Austin, was apprehended without incident.
According to public records, Vega has been arrested four times by CPD since 2014 on such charge as DUI and possession of a controlled substance.

A 30-year-old man from suburban Park Forest was arrested on a warrant charge after he was apprehended during a traffic stop in the 5700 block of West 55th Street at 9:40 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 11.
Ice C. Heard was taken into custody without incident. Police declined to discuss the nature of the warrant or what jurisdiction it was issued from.
According to public records, Heard was arrested on the West Side last July and charged with armed violence.

A 28-year-old West Elsdon man was charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon after he was arrested in the 6011 block of South Troy at 1:42 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 14.
Cesar Rodarte, of the 3900 block of West 57th Street, was apprehended by officers responding to a report of a disturbance at a house party.
A pat down of Rodarte yielded a loaded handgun, a CPD spokesman said.

A 26-year-old Garfield Ridge woman was charged with domestic battery after she was arrested at her home in the 5100 block of Rutherford at 9:10 p.m. Monday, Feb. 22.
Cynthia Pico allegedly broke into a bathroom and ripped the sweater of a 28-year-old man during an argument.

A 34-year-old Archer Heights man was charged with criminal sexual assault after he was arrested at his home in the 4800 block of South Kostner at 12:28 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 18.
Liera Morano Humberto allegedly assaulted a 25-year-old woman in southwest suburban New Lenox back in September 2019, a CPD spokesman said.
He was arrested by a fugitive apprehension task force.

A 30-year-old Burbank man was charged with DUI, carrying open alcohol in a vehicle and speeding after he was arrested during a traffic stop in the 4700 block of South Cicero at 9:34 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19.
Ahmad O. Mahmoud, of the 7700 block of South Laramie, was apprehended police after police observed him driving erratically, a CPD spokesman said.
