Three residential burglaries in West Elsdon have prompted police to issue a community alert.
Police did not say if the burglaries were of homes, garages or both.
Crime scenes include:
• 5600 block of South Kolin on March 3.
• 5600 block of South Kolmar on March 3.
• 5500 block of South Kildare on March 8.
• 5600 block of South Kolmar on March 3.
• 5500 block of South Kildare on March 8.
The burglar has been described a Hispanic man about 5-foot-11 and 185 pounds.
Those with useful information to share about the crimes are encouraged to call CPD Area 1 detectives at (312) 747-8380
and refer to crime pattern P21-1-034).In the wake of the crime police advise:
• Keep the perimeter of your property well lit.
• Report suspicious activity immediately.
• Keep doors and windows secured.
• Immediately repair any broken windows, doors or locks.
• If video surveillance is available, save and make a copy of the incident for investigating detectives.
• If you are a victim do not touch anything, call police immediately.
• If approached by a witness to the incident, request contact information.
