In a part of Chicago known for its dog lovers, as many as a hundred people and their canine companions (and one or two cats that wanted no part of being among so many dogs) headed over to Clearing and Garfield Ridge churches today to receive the annual blessings on the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi, patron saint of animals and the environment.
The photos below, in no particular order, were shot at St. Rene Goupil Church, and also St. Daniel the Prophet Church.
