A CPD alert did not name the businesses, and it did not indicate if the bandits were armed.
Crime scenes include:
• 4500 block of South Cicero at 7:20 p.m.
• 8200 block of South Cicero at 8:05 p.m.
One robber was described as a black man about 5-foot-8 and 160 pounds, with his hair in dreadlocks.
The other was described as a black man about 5-foot-10 and 165 pounds.
Those with useful information to share are advised to call CPD Area 1 detectives at (312) 747-8380 and refer to crime pattern P20-1-239.
In the wake of the crime, police advise:
• Always be aware of your surroundings.
• Report suspicious activity immediately.
• If you are confronted by an assailant, remain calm.
• Remember any unique physical characteristics (such as scars, limp, tattoos).
• Never pursue a fleeing assailant; provide the information to the police.
