The event, which stepped off at 7 p.m. Friday, June 28, was
sponsored by Third District Congressman Dan Lipinski, the Garfield Ridge Neighborhood Watch, the Garfield Ridge Chamber of Commerce and the Garfield Ridge Civic League.
This was the eighth year that the Southwest Chicago Post was out there with a camera. This year, we were near a historic relic of years gone by: the Bartlett Gatepost on the northwest corner of Archer and Melvina--one of the last of dozens that used to line Archer.
As usual, the kids at the curbs were at least as photogenic as those marching in the parade.
Here are a bunch of photos we shot--in no particular order, of parade units and people at the curb. Enjoy!
May your Independence Day be meaningful, joyful and safe.
